Watching a Pond Grow

March 2008

During early march the pond slowly started to wake up. Plants started to grow slightly and at night you could see frogs sitting in the water. I took the two pictures below on the 6th of March but it was not until the 30th that we actually got some spawn. I think this was mainly due to the fact that in my area you normally get spawn mid-late march and also it stayed cold for most of the middle of march and later on we had snow.

On the 30th of March i have found the first ever clump of spawn in my pond. It is almost 1 year to the day since we made the pond and we have our first spawn! I will show pictures of it growing up until it turns into frogs.
