Watching a Pond Grow

The "Big Freeze" lasted for much of January and the pond continued to have some ice in it until the end of the month. When it was full frozen the ice on the pond was totally solid and would not move. I was able to stand on it in the middle but I only did that the once, didnt want to risk damaging the liner. The snow depth had decreased very slightly but most of the snow remained from late December until mid January.

Lots of bird footprints in the snow.

Iced branch. There was alot of ice sickles around on roofs but i thought this was interesting. The water dripped from the garage roof and hit the plants branches and managed to create these.

The pond once the "Big Freeze" was over. Taken on the 29th of January. Quite a difference compared to December.
