Watching a Pond Grow

December 2008

December was mostly cold with the pond being frozen over frequently and often for a few days at a time or more. At one point the temperature was -4 at its highest in the day and so the pond had no chance of remaining ice free. By this time of year however, as long as the ice is broken most days to get airflow into the water it is ok.

These pictures where taken while it was well into the minuses (around -4) in early December.
