July 2011

During June the pond continued with the usual growth that would be expected for that time of year. By the time July was reached the pond was looking very healthy and was in good shape. However the most noticeable growth had occurred in the recently re-dug bog rather than the pond. The bog area had been re-dug in May 2011 and a number of new plants had been planted, with the grasses being removed along with a few other plants.

Within the bog itself the pre-existing Carnivorous Plant bog which had only recieved a tidy-up in May had really done well with all the plants growing strongly and starting to really take hold in the area and fill it up.

The pond itself looked good all through July, although a lack of flowers from the Waterlily was slightly disapointing as the flowers were slow to appear this year compared to last. The plant itself continued to grow well though.
