From the end of November till well into January the pond was covered in snow. This picture from the 23rd of December (taken from an unusual position) shows it best. 

The paths have been cleared and some of that snow was piled near or on the pond too. However, like always, the duck can be seen standing next to the pond....well, its upper half.
